IMS2012 International Microwave Symposium

I hope that you have enjoyed the wonderful experiences of our series of professional and social events which includes RFIC, IMS2012 and ARFTG in Montréal and will long retain a vivid memory of the exceptionally hot Microwave Week in June. Yes indeed, we have enjoyed a very successful and colorful celebration of every attendee’s every interest in every area of the industrial exhibition, advanced technology, professional networking, business development, cultural enrichment, and family vacation. So many memorable moments were captured by pictures and videos, some of which can now be viewed on our websites for your enjoyment, including on IEEE TV.

Our IMS2012, for only the second time outside the USA, was well attended by the international microwave community involving 57 countries, perfectly reflecting the theme of “Microwaves without Borders.” The collaboration of microwave and RF industry professionals from around the world was astounding. We saw incredible enthusiasm and satisfaction for the technical, industrial, and social programs from our technical presenters, student competitors, exhibitors, and visitors, all having contributed to the huge success of IMS2012. This year, we also celebrated the 60^th anniversary of the MTT-S, with various sessions with prominent MTT-S members, and an enhanced historical exhibit, among other events.

The successful organization of such a Microwave Week required a huge effort and selfless dedication of many volunteers. I’d like to thank those who volunteered and contributed including the Steering Committee, our TPRC (Technical Program Review Committee), our Exhibit Manager MP Associates, our IEEE meeting planner, our corporate and government sponsors, our business contractors, and our media partners. I’d like to particularly express my appreciation to the MTT-S AdCom, IEEE Microwave Magazine, and IMS Special Issue Authors, Tourism Montréal, for the help they have provided. There were so many who made our life easier, richer and enjoyable during the last few years of IMS2012 preparation. You are great heroes behind the scenes! Finally, I’d like to thank you, all of our attendees, for your active contribution and participation, which made this Microwave Week possible.
